Two Photographs From Drift Creek Falls
I often look for easy day hikes where I can take my camera along and enjoy a little solitary bliss. Drift Creek Falls, located not far from Lincoln City along the Oregon Coast is one of those places. The hike is only a few miles and leads to a wonderful waterfall and beautiful scenery.
A Sliver Of Forest Light
Working with black and white film can be incredibly challenging on bright sunny days in thick forest settings. Light values get quite extreme, from very bright highlights to deep shadows. It takes some very careful metering to get. good negative.
Shadow Detail With Film
I didn’t intend for this photograph to be so contrasty. However, sometimes fate has other plans when working with black and white film and that is perfectly ok with me.
