Using Front Tilt For 4x5 Camera Portraits
I’ve been taking a deep dive lately into using the 4×5 camera for more and more portrait and figure work. In particular my Wista 45DX. For this particular image, I did some experimenting with front lens tilt to really fine tune the look I wanted in the final image.
Nudes With 4x5 Film
I always feel a little intimidated to work with large format 4×5 film and people. When working with the nude in particular, there is a pressure to work quickly, which goes against the ethos of large format, a medium that rewards patience and taking your time.
Getting Back To 4x5 Large Format Film
I’ve resolved to start treating 4×5 large format film more seriously than I have in the past. Forcing myself to slow down and think a lot less about quantity in my work is a very healthy frame of mind to move toward.
